Savory Seattle

Our grandpa's brother-in-law (maybe a stretch of a connection, but we are taking it), contributed to the construction of the Space Needle. It's family lore we've heard throughout our childhood. So, visiting Seattle with his children and seeing the Needle in person was a special treat.

Also a special treat.... Staying with family on Puget Sound

And a can't miss treat... Pike's Place Market

Le Panier
This feutilletés á la suisse was a perfect package of emmental cheese within a flaky, golden pastry

Beecher's Handmade Cheese
They call it the "World's Best" and I'm not going to accuse them of hubris. It was outstanding.

The Breadzel is why I love science. The bread is made with heritage grains from the Washington State University's Bread Lab, and is combined with Beecher's cheese.

I could spend a month making my way through all the cheeses they offer, but I landed on the Flagship to start. You can also get a peek at their cheese making process at the storefront.

Finally, a great travel tip we discovered when our plans left us trying to get from one side of Puget Sound to the other at rush hour...  a Water Taxi! This seriously saved us a fair amount of $$$ compared to an uber, and it was a much more pleasant ambiance than an hour in a car.
